This month, we are launching a new service area within the institutes:
systemwide coordination of physician assistant and nurse practitioner graduate education.
We are excited that Michelle Noltimier, BSN, MBA, has joined the HealthPartners Institute to kick off the development and implementation of a systemwide approach,
similar to the longstanding system for graduate medical education.
In 2014, clinicians across HealthPartners provided clinical training for more than 100 nurse practitioner (NP) and physician assistant (PA) students. The demand for this training far exceeds the number of students we can accept, and we currently do not have a common approach to this activity across our system.
As a nurse manager at Hennepin County Medical Center and Regions Hospital,Michelle has led complex operational teams in large enterprises involved in education and research. Michelle will begin work implementing a system-wide framework that supports future workforce needs, fosters relationships with
schools and develops a single student entry point across the HealthPartners enterprise. She will be partnering with operational leaders and PA/NP schools to create a framework to coordinate student experiences, including common on-boarding strategies and patient and learner-centered educational programs within the framework of the Institute of Healthcare Improvement’s triple aim. We’re excited to keep you updated on this work. Stay tuned!
